Dr. Tetsuhiro Ueno, DACM, L.Ac., FABORM

Tetsuhiro Ueno is nationally licensed and board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and maintains state license in Virginia. Dr. Ueno graduated as valedictorian of the Master’s Program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCTCM) in Austin, Texas. He also earned the degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) at Pacific College of Health and Science. He has strong interests in treatments for reproductive and gynecological conditions, insomnia, depression and internal diseases. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), and has over ten years’ experience working as an acupuncturist at an integrated medicine clinic in Arlington, VA collaborating closely with medical doctors and chiropractors. He has also served as a professor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University, School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Falls Church, VA, one of the largest and most prestigious acupuncture schools in the nation.

Prior to receiving his master degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine, Tetsuhiro earned his BA in Social Science from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating, he worked for ten years at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a Japanese governmental organization that implements technical cooperation in developing countries around the world.

In addition to running his private practice, Dr. Ueno consults with medical officers at the Embassy of Japan, and carries out lectures for local communities on topics related to Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Ueno devotes his passion and energy to helping people, and sharing happiness with them. He believes that building a long-lasting and trustful relationship with patients is extremely important for the success of the treatment.

Dr. Mark Bodzislaw, DAOM, L.Ac., Dip.OM.

Dr. Mark Bodzislaw, DAOM, L.Ac., Dip.OM. is a NCCAOM® nationally board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He received his Masters of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the top-ranked Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in Gainesville, FL; and his Doctorate in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Five Branches University in San Jose, CA.

He received his initial Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with concentrations in Political Science and Environmental Policy from the University of South Florida – St. Petersburg. Additionally, he concurrently completed his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine.

Additionally, he has served in several leadership positions throughout his career, including as Secretary, and later Vice-Chair, on the Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine Board of Governors; Membership Liaison for the Acupuncture Society of Virginia Board of Directors; and Professional Member the American Society of Acupuncturists in both the Nominating Committee and the Student Leadership Committees.

Dr. Taejean Converti, DOM, L.Ac., Dip. Ac

Dr. Converti is a licensed acupuncturist and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Dr. Converti received the degree of Doctor of Oriental Medicine from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (VUIM). For the past several years Dr. Converti has worked with patients of all age groups with an integrative approach to health by using acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition/supplements counseling, and lifestyle coaching. She is also well-versed in specialized treatment modalities such as gua sha, cupping, and moxibustion as well as in incorporating the use of Qi Gong and meditation in acupuncture treatment.

Dr. Converti’s experience includes treatment for pain management, anxiety, allergies, digestive problems, oncology support treatment, fertility, insomnia, cosmetic enhancement, and neuro-acupuncture. Dr. Converti believes that to achieve long-term results, the most important aspect of any treatment is the correction of the underlying cause of the symptoms and not the removal of the symptoms per se. Tamao “Tami” Albert, CMT

Originally from Japan, Tami brings many gifts from her native country to her work with clients at Caring Acupuncture.

Tami studied Seitai, Reiki, and Reflexology in Japan. The Seitai style she studied is gentle and non-invasive. It is a combination of Osteopathic Bodywork, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Tuina, Kinesiology, and Positional Release. Tami is a Reiki master in the Gendai Reiki Healing Association. Her lineage is the 5th from the founder of the Reiki, Mr. Usui. She is also one of the first practitioners of Yurashi Gentle Touch Therapy in the US.

A graduate of American University in Washington, D.C. and Applied Kinesthetic Studies School of Massage (AKS) in Herndon, Virginia, Tami is a compassionate listener and experienced in many forms of bodywork. In addition to her training in Japan, she has built her repertoire to include Oncology Massage, Manual Lymph Drainage, Scar Release, and Pre and Post Natal Massage. She is also a certified practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal Therapy® (ATMAT), which is known to relieve a variety of symptoms for both male and female, especially for fertility purposes.

Tami’s approach is gentle, subtle, efficient and effective. She believes your body is designed to heal itself and you are your own best doctor. She enjoys using all of her skills and experiences to respond to the needs of each individual. Many different types of clients benefit from Tami’s work including children, pre and post natal women, cancer patients, the elderly, and those suffering from stress and recovering from injuries.

Minku Kang, CMT, LMT

Minku is a licensed massage therapist and an avid athlete having competed in track at the state level in Korea where he is from. Given his background in athletics, he became interested in Sports Medicine, which led him to study Physical Education in Korea and Sports Massage in the US. Since 2006, he has been working as a massage therapist at several clinics. He understands the importance of maintaining a healthy body, and the specific therapeutic needs of athletes. He is passionate about helping clients heal inside and outside, and employs an effective approach to relax the body’s soft tissues and alleviate pain. His areas of expertise are: Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Spinal Muscular Release Therapy, Abdominal Lymphatic Drainage, Acupressure Therapy, and Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage.

In addition to his work as a licensed massage therapist, he has recently obtained a master degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from South Baylo University in Annandale, VA, and has been working as a licensed acupuncturist in Maryland. Minku is now in the process of becoming licensed in Virginia in acupuncture.
